Bollywood’s obsession with Euro-Centricism is legendary. It can be evidently seen with the recent flooding of foreign actresses in Indian cinemas. The significant part is that most of these actresses, who are presently leading the mainstream Indian cinema had zero success in their hailing countries. Actresses such as Katrina Kaif and Evelyn Sharma had a non-existent career outside India but in, but in Bollywood they have tasted success. We should not be surprised by the fact that all this has happened because of their White skin and western mannerism. And since white skin attracts more audience and thus makes more money for the film producers, no one in the industry really protested against the trend.

Though these days Indian actresses such as Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone are turning tables and impressing Hollywood with their acting skills and looks, the opposite is true for Indian Cinema. This is a result of colonial hangover from which much of the world suffers. The obsession with white skin and considering it more beautiful than other skin tones has resulted in a multi-billion dollar industry of skin-whitening beauty products and treatments. Nevertheless, It would continue till the time the attraction towards FAIR is dominating our mind.
